Spring is in the Air at The Diedrich Dare!!!

Happy Whimsical Wedneday!
For this weeks challenge, Madelynn wants to see us all create a SPRING CARD!

Before we get into details I want to give a HUGEAMONGOUS THANK-YOU to Marie from The Greeting Farm for sponsoring the Diedrich Dare this month. I absoloutely adore The Greeting farm....and was beyond ecstatic to work with them this month....so, thanks Marie!!!!

Onto this week's challenge....Spring! How easy is that? Well it was for me, spring type cards are right up my alley as I tend to lean towards bright fun cheery colours. The image on my card is called Lady Baby Bug. I coloured her up with my copic markers and added lots of sparkly glitter! I had this perfect ladybug paper in my stash and had to use it! I borrowed my mom's new ladybug punch - how perfect! And I used a brand new ladybug charm I got from Phebe on the weekend! I love ladybugs (except the biting ones..hehe).

So pop by the Deidrich Dare Blog and link up your Spring Card, and don't forget to see what the other Daredevils came up with!

Super exciting news!!! Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!!

Happy Saturday to you! I'm super excited to be posting today, cause I got a 'lil announcement! I'm joining the Krafty Girls as a Guest Designer over at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! Yippee woo hoo! I'm so excited and want to thank Kimmie for having me and all the amazingly talented Krafty Girls for their warm welcome! I'm so excited to be working with you gals, considering Kimmie and Andrea were part of the reason I (very quickly) dove back into cardmaking about a year ago after switching to scrapbooking for many years. I took a few of their classes at Scrappin Great Deals to see if I could get back into stamping and card making (which I started off doing)...and well, they litterally had me at 'hello'...lol!

Anyway, I jumped in just in time for the challenge on the Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Blog. Every Saturday they have a brand new challenge for you to play along with! This weeks theme is LOTS OF FLOWERS!

Here's my sample:

Ironically, for my first post, I coloured up Posy for my card...it was the very first Kraftin Kimmie Stamp I purchased at the launch party way back in October. I just fell in love with her and she was the first one in my basket.

I hand made the little flowers for my card. I have been seeing these sweet little paper rosettes everywhere lately and found a great tutorial while I was stalking Paula's blog...here's the link for the awesome tutorial from talented blogger Wendy. I had to add some with the theme this week! I added a close up shot so you can see how easy they are to make!

I hope you play along, who doesn't love flowers, especially at this time of year!!! Be sure to swing by the Blog and check out what the amazing Krafty Girls have to show you!

Have a great weekend...I know I will, I'm still doing my happy dance!!!

Ella's Pink Scrapbook Challenge #4

This weeks Challenge at Ella's Pink Scrapbook is:
Chipboard & Paint!

This past weekend I attended Cropalooza with some of my friends. This was our 3rd year attending and we had alot of fun. My mom and I even snuck away to check out Scrapfest in Kitchener for a few hours! I've never been before and all I have to say is WOW! It was awesome! Picked up some very cool stuff I've never seen before and also ran into my good friend Melanie, who was with a few of my other friends Kimmie & Andrea! I also was on the hunt to say hi to my friends Phebe from The Town Scrapper, & Kim & Kel from The Pickle! It was so much fun! Definately going again next year!

Anyway, on to the challenge....the picture on the left shows you the chipboard letters that were used and you can't really see it but I used my new Smootch Spritz on the red card stock to give a splatter effect. I think that qualifies as paint...right? :) I love the new Smootch Spritz, it comes in a cool little glass bottle and gives a really nice glimmer.

So get out your paints, and some chipboard and show us what you got! Be sure to stop by the Pink Elephant Blog and check out what the DT has to show you this week!

Have a great day!

I DARE you to take this color challenge!!!

Happy Whimsical Wednesday to you all! This weeks challenge at the Diedrich Dare Challenge Blog is a COLOR Challenge! Here's your inspiration:

How's that for a challenge? Well it was for me anyway!!! I must say I've never used this color combo before, but I always like a good challenge, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome of my card!
Here's my take on the color combo:
I used the incredibly adorable Tennis Anya from The Greeting Farm (our sponsor this month). I'm a HUGE tennis fan. I played it in highschool, and almost every Saturday afternoon with my brother way back when....I beat him everytime of course...lol...oh I love the smack talk! Brings back memories of fighting over a point, or if it was in or out, then it was game over when someone inevitably starting acting like McEnroe! Thats why I couldn't resist adding this cheeky little sentiment, to go along with her firey reddish hair!
Be sure to hop over to the Dare Blog and load up your card for this fun challenge and don't forget to check out the rest of the DareDevils for some inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

A Fabulous Sketch Challenge at TPE!

This is my 2nd post for today...If you're looking for The Town Scrapper Blog Hop scroll down or click HERE!
Ready for another challenge at The Pink Elephant?
This week's theme is a totally rockin fun SKETCH by Lori!!!

I received a SWEET little pkg in the mail the other day. It was my order from Die Cuts R Us and in it was the new Claudia & Co Puddle Jumper stamps! (designed by the awesomely talented Lori Boyd ;) Oh I'm sooo in looove with these cute little kids! I was sooo excited to rip open the envelope and start playing!
I used Lucas for my card but instead of the little chick that comes with him I used the cute little pup that comes with Noah! I love how you can mix and match them up! I coloured him with my Copic markers and used some new dp I got by Basic Grey - Sugar Rush collection. I tried to follow this super fun sketch exactly and added some buttons with twine and popped the sentiment (from my computer).

So swing by The Pink Elephant Blog, take a peek at what the DT has to show you and play along!

I hope you have a wonderful week! Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Whimsical kind of Wednesday...

Happy Wimsical Wednesday! This weeks challenge is a rockin SKETCH by Jack!

I'm all in my glory this month because the sponsor for the DD Blog is The Greeting Farm and I can't get enough of them! Have you seen their new website? Its too stinkin cute! I used WS Rain Rain image, isn't she adorable? And appropriate with the rain we've been having lately! And there's lots more to come, ah the joys of spring. At least its not snow!
I coloured her with my copic markers and added some brads for buttons and repeated the brads in the corners. The dp is American Crafts and the cute button and heart charm is from a recent shopping trip to The Town Scrapper. The little teeny tiny sentiment is from Stamping Bella!

Be sure to join in on the fun with us this week over at Whimsical Wednesdays the Diedrich Dare Blog and don't forget to check out what the other DareDevils have come up with:

Have a great day!

Its time for a recipe...

Good Monday morning to you! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to start off your week with a RECIPE challenge at The Pink Elephant!
Here's the recipe: 1 Image, 2 Die Cuts and 3 of your Fav Embellishments!
I couldn't resist and chose this image to go along with the 'recipe' challenge. It's from the stamp set 'MICEY DAY' by Penny Black, which I got from The Town Scrapper. I masked off the image with a post-it note and tried sponging around the edges with some Tim Holtz distress inks. (a technique I need to work on).

My recipe: Micey Day image, Nesties scalloped square dies for the frame and sentiment and my 3 favorite embellishments right now have got to be ribbon, flowers and the little silver spacers that finish off the centre of the flower so nicely.

I also used my clear glaze pen and some frosted lace stickles on the cherries. I think those hungry little mice want to make cherry pie so I had to add some sugar!!!

Swing by The Pink Elephant blog to see what the rest of the DT have come up with and play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

A Puzzle Challenge!!!

This week at The Town Scrapper we have a special challenge for you. It's a 'PUZZLE CHALLENGE'. With April 2nd being 'Autism Awareness' day we thought we'd tie that into this week's challenge and showcase the wonderful stamp that was exclusively created by Victoria Case for TTS!
You'll want to play along this week as a few of the DT members will be donating $1 for every DT showcase card, AS WELL as $1 for every participant that enters the Puzzle Challenge. All the money raised will be donated to the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Amazing ladies!

Make sure you check out all the cards that were submitted by the Scrapettes, they are just amazing and will definately inspire you this week (in more ways than one)!

Have a great weekend!

Ella's Pink Scrapbook Challenge #2

Thanks to everyone for playing last week for the very first challenge at Ella's Pink Scrapbook! For our second challenge we want to see a Scrap Make-Over! Just take a page and recreate, add or spiff it up in anyway! I did this layout about 6 years ago and although I liked it something about it always bothered me...I think it was all the different dp's and the gigantic d-a-d! (what was I thinking? I have many pages like that! lol) So I took the whole thing apart and created a new page, which I'm very happy with!

BEFORE
AFTER
(My very favorite picture of my hubby and son!)
I used a piece of DP from Upsy Daisy Designs that I've had for ever and trimmed it down so I could stitch it to an olive green background. I cut out the paisleys that were going to be covered with the picture and popped them randomly for more dimension. I distressed around the edges and it was done! I can see many more scrap-makeovers in the future.
Don't forget our Design Team call is still open so show us your stuff if you're interested in joining us!
Check out what the SCRAP DESIGN TEAM has come up with and play along with us this week!
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Ready for a colour challenge?

Are you ready for another Whimsical Wednesday DareDevil Challenge? Well this week its a COLOR challenge. Here's your inspiration:

This was my take on the challenge: Pink & Brown with a little Bling on the side!!!

This month's sponsor at Whimsical Wednesday's is one of my absolute favorite stamp companies THE GREETING FARM! I just can't get enough of them!!! I chose to use the cute digi stamp WS Audrey (she was a freebie a while back and couldn't resist). Isn't she the cutest little tomboy?
As usual, I coloured her up using the copic colors in the picture above. I like clean and simple layouts and it seemed to work with this image. I paper pieced her ball cap using some dp by Pink Paislee. I added a little bit of bling by adding some rhinestones to the top and bottom corners of the image and also put some blingy bobbles in her ponytail!

So take the dare this week and play along, to win a great prize from our sponsor, The Greeting Farm. And don't forget to check out what the other Dare Devils have come up with for even more inspiration:
Have a great week!

Another Monday Showcase...yay

This is my second post for today,
to see the current Pink Elephant Challenge click HERE!
Monday's always start off fun for me! Today I'm also posting a card for the Monday Showcase at The Town Scrapper.

I chose Birthday Sophie cause I love a party and she's all dressed up and ready to go! I coloured her with my copics. I decided not to use any dp (I can't beleive it myself) but nothing really was making me happy and since the image is nice and big with lots of elements, I wanted it to be the main attraction! I added some diamond stickles to the presents, her hair bows and the yellow balloon. I also added some crystal lacquer to the pink balloon and her shoes making them pink 'patent leather'. I used some of my Stampin Up polka dot ribbon and button to finish it off!

Check out The Town Scrapper blog to see what the other Scrapettes have to show you this week. We will be showcasing the exclusive new Victoria Case stamps all month so keep your peeled for more fun!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #61

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Lets get to it....this weeks challenge at The Pink Elephant is Nature (anything that has to do with Nature, flowers, colors etc...)

Our sponsor this week is All That Scraps and I'm just lovin their new Swiss Pixies Spring Kit. I'm such a sucker for these little guys! I chose to use 'Hansel with Big Flower' and coloured him up with my copics. I decided to challenge myself and use earthy colours for the Nature theme. I usually never use these colours as I gravitate more to the brighter ones. I snipped out the entire image and the flower and popped it on my flower nestie template to add some dimension. The dp is from Basic Grey - Origins. The solid colour cardstock is all Bazzill. I kept this simple with no sentiment and added an organza bow with a big button to finish it off!

So hop over to The Pink Elephant blog and play along with us this week & also check out what the DT came up with, it will get your mojo flowin!!!

Have a great day!
