Learn to pause....

Now that 2013 is quickly coming to a close I've promised myself to post all of the things I've created but haven't put on my blog.  This one fell through the cracks of the many 'unorganized' photos I have on my computer....
The girl stamp is from Stamping Bella and I coloured her in with copic markers, prismacolor pencils and golden acrylic paints.  Lots of green and brown paints, inks etc...were used (which are usually not my 1st choice, but I had to challenge myself to do something different).
I love this sentiment, (from Tim Holtz Just Thoughts stamp set)...reminds me to slow down and enjoy life!

Give hope a chance to float up.....

Hello folks!  Back again to share another art journal page.

My inspiration today started with a quote from the movie Hope Floats.

"Beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad,
But its the middle that counts the most.
Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning.
Just give hope a chance to float up,
and it will..."

Supplies used in this page:  Acrylic paint, book paper, gelatos, gesso, buttons, designer paper, unity stamp by Christy Tomlinson, Faber Castell Pitt pens, Caran D'ache Neocolors, mod podge.

I was finally able to play with my Unity stamp designed by Christy Tomlinson.  I love her She Art and thought this would be a fast and easy way to add a girl to a journal page.  I stamped her on multiple pieces of designer paper to get different colours for the skin (book paper), wings, shirt and dress.  Then I added some paint, Neocolors, doodles and Faber Castell Pitt pens.

Here is a little list of where you can find some amazing artsy crafty inspiration!  They sure keep me motivated and inspired!

{Dream}, wish, believe.....

Hello folks!  Its been a while since I've postsed anything and now since things are starting to slowly wind down I've found a little pocket of time to get something up on here.  I started this little painting the beginning of last year and have just recently finished it.
It started with a piece of 7x7 chipboard and acrylic paints and gouache.  I then went in with my Faber Castell Pitt Pens to add some stems and dimension/shadows etc...I finished it off with some rub-ons and stamps!!!  So fun!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

This month we are releasing the BFF Trinkets set which includes EIGHT trinkets in each set with four of each size and they come as both positive and negative images.  You will get the set as a completely unmounted full sheet of deeply etched grey rubber.  Today we have lots of inspiration from the Krafty Girls, so hop around....and be sure to comment at each and every stop because one lucky stamper is going to WIN the new BFF TRINKETS set!!! {All of this week's winners will be announced at the online party on Sunday afternoon!}

OH YES!  We are having another amazing ONLINE RELEASE PARTY!  It's happening this SUNDAY afternoon at our Facebook fan page....and you can get ALL the details HERE!  All the new stamps we're sharing over the next few days will be released on SUNDAY!

I created a few tags using two of the new BFF Trinkets.  These trinket stamps are so versatile, they can be used on any of your crafting or art projects!

This was another double tag project.  I love how you can have a different layer on the bottom and have the sentiment peeking through.
Here is a close-up of my hand drawn heart and the layers of watercolour and of course lots of glitter!!!

For  this tag, I  used mostly acrylic paints and one of my favourite flower stencils.

Here is a close-up of the sentiment, which was coloured using Faber Castell Pitt Pens.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Let the fairy in you fly....another KKS challenge...

Welcome back to another fun challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!!  Today I'm playing hostess and I challenge you to use flowers on your project.  I rarely use actual 'flower embellishments' on my cards or projects so this really was a challenge for me.  You can use any kind of flower, it can be on your designer paper, embellishments, incorporated in the stamp/sentiment etc...we just want to see those flowers!  Maybe it will nudge spring along because it sure is taking it's sweet little time around here!!!  Play along with us using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp and you could win some Krafty Rubber!!!

I created another mixed media tag for my project today...yep, I'm on the 'tag train' and not sure when I'm getting off!  lol...anyway, for my project I've used the newly released Tatiana and an older sentiment 'let the fairy in you fly'.  On the original stamp for Tatiana, she is holding a mirror but I wanted her to be holding some flowers so I just simply cut the mirror part off during the 'fussy cutting' stage.
Here is a close up of how I cut out the 'mirror' and added my own glittery flowers.  Her wings were paper pieced using some old book paper.  I added a bit of colour with my peerless watercolors.
And another close-up of the sentiment and the cabochon flower.

I also used lots and lots of  Glimmer Mist and Stardust Stickles which is hard to see in the first picture of the whole tag.  I added glitter to the edges of the 'torn' parts, the flowers, and some random dots scattered around.

Here is a list of some of the supplies I've used on my tag.  Tags (x2 Canvas Corp), old book paper, flower stencils, text stencils (The Crafters Workshop), peerless watercolors, glimmer mist, copic markers, stickles, gesso, faber castell pitt pens, flower embellishments, archival ink, mod podge.
Also there's a big Springtime Krafty Krop goin' on today at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps for even more fun and chances to win some prizes.  You can check out all the information HERE!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Dream....

Hi Everyone, back again to show you some more mixed media art!  My mom and I along with a friend, attended a super fun Tag class with Anna at The Scrapping Bug a few weeks ago.  We experimented with a bunch of different techniques for art journals and canvases etc..and put them on our tags with step by step instructions on the back.  So when ever you are stuck or want to recreate something and you can't remember how you did it, you can go to your 'tag book'!  Genius I say!!!  Anyway we had a blast and had great company and learned a bunch of fun new techniques!

This tag was made using a big butterfly stencil (The Crafters Workshop) and some tinted molding paste.  We filled in the stencil with the paste and let dry for the remainder of the class.  I finished it the next day at home using some Dylusions Ink Sprays and more TCW stencils, gesso, some Faber Castell Pitt Pens, a Dream sentiment stamp and some archival ink.

Needless to say I'm totally completely addicted to TAGS now!  They are so much fun to play with and are a snap to finish.  You'll be seeing many more 'Tag' posts in the future...they're all photographed and ready to go, just a matter of finding time to blog about it!!!
