A spoooooooky challenge!!!

Happy Saturday Everyone!!! Today at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, our sweet and talented Krafty Girl Andrea wants to see your SPOOOOKY CARDS!
Thats right make it as spooky as you can and link up your project for us to see!

For my card I used 'Batty Princess'.

I just love this image illustrated by Annie Rodrigue...it's one of her original designs and I thought was perfect for the Spoooooky Card theme!

I ended up only using the top half of the image (my markers were behaving badly, tsk tsk..haha) so I took out my creative memories circle cutters and cut a hole in my card so I could 'pop' her out of it. I completely cut her out being very careful not to snip any hair or fingers...(lots of patience on this one). When I popped her out I thought it looked like its her little home and she's holding up a 'warning' sign that things might get spooky if you come in...lol!!!

I added some Basic Grey dp on the inside to add a little bit more dimension, rather than leaving it all black. For the front panel, I broke out my Cuttlebug spider web embossing folder and my Inkssentials ink tool, some charcoal chalk ink, and went to town!!! I printed off the word 'spooky' from my computer and randomly cut out the letters and also sponged them with the charcoal chalk ink. I adhered them to a little piece of twine that I carefully placed in her dainty little batty fingers!

Although she was fun to colour up, minus the marker mishap...I really need to work on my shading...sometimes I really have a hard time figuring out the shadows and shading on really detailed images. I often turn to my good friend Melanie's blog where I get amazing inspiration! She recently posted some fantastic tips and info on shadows, shading, light sources etc...The post is HERE, you must check it out, she knows what she's talking about!!!

Be sure to check out the other spoooky cards from the wonderful Krafty Girls! You'll be spooked for sure!!!

Well, this was a lengthy post, feeling a little chatty today...lol...getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. To all of my fellow Canadian crafters 'Happy Thanksgiving'!
