Give hope a chance to float up.....

Hello folks!  Back again to share another art journal page.  

My inspiration today started with a quote from the movie Hope Floats.  

"Beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, 

But its the middle that counts the most.  

Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning.

Just give hope a chance to float up, 

and it will..."

Supplies used in this page:  Acrylic paint, book paper, gelatos, gesso, buttons, designer paper, unity stamp by Christy Tomlinson, Faber Castell Pitt pens, Caran D'ache Neocolors, mod podge.

I was finally able to play with my Unity stamp designed by Christy Tomlinson.  I love her She Art and thought this would be a fast and easy way to add a girl to a journal page.  I stamped her on multiple pieces of designer paper to get different colours for the skin (book paper), wings, shirt and dress.  Then I added some paint, Neocolors, doodles and Faber Castell Pitt pens.

Handmade Goodness....

So my mom is very artistic and is always trying new things, every time I turn around she is dabbling into something new and always comes up with the most adorable creations!!!  THESE handmade felt bracelet cuffs are NO EXCEPTION and honestly are now among my favourites!!!  Aren't they gorgeous???

 

 

She even made teeny tiny ones to fit my daughters wee wrist!  You can see by the smile on her face that Nana's gift was a hit!!!   She is already comissioning my mom to make one for each one of her friends!!! 

She wears it everywhere!!!

Anyway just wanted to share some handmade goodness!  There's nothing better than a handmade gift!  Thanks mom!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! 

 

I hope you all had a wonderful, safe and happy Christmas and are enjoying the holidays so far!  I can't believe its the start of another year!  I don't make resolutions anymore, I already make and break promises to myself all the time....this time of year is no different, and who needs that kind of pressure anyway?  lol...no, I just try to be the best I can all the time, and know that its OK when it sometimes doesn't happen.  As Bobby McFerrin once put it, "Don't Worry, Be Happy", thats my motto!!!

 

Today at By LORi Designs, the design team is showcasing cards with a Love or Valentines theme!  For my card I used the totally sweet Puddle Jumper 'Sunday Best Landon' DIGI found HERE. 

 

 

He was coloured with copic markers and then I used some Prismacolor pencils for the shading and the grass.  I guess its now time to start thinking about Valentines day!  This makes a pretty cute non-traditional type card that is perfect for a dad or grand-dad, uncle etc...
