Dream Big!!!

I am going thru some major card making withdrawl (LOL), and yesterday I got a scrappy little package in the mail from my friend Lisa as a thank you for being a guest designer for SSDS, thanks Lisa, it was great! So I set aside some time to do some stampin', and boy did I ever need it!!! Making cards is my outlet and with all the hype of moving, etc...I was feeling the need to get my hands all inky!!! I got this stamp from Funkykits, its a Sugar Nellie stamp and this one is called Moon Beam by Leanne Ellis. I totally fell in love with this one and just had to have it!!! I coloured her using pencil crayons and gamsol (oms). I have been playing around with this technique and find it alot of fun. It gives a pretty muted and soft look, which is completely different from the bright bold colours of the copics! I love trying new things and get inspired by all of the amazing blogs I follow! Anyway, my hubby was the inspiration for this card. Ever since we've been together he has always wanted to own a Canadian Tire store. This past month his 'big dream' came true due to years of hard work and determination. I'm 'over the moon' and so very proud of him and truly believe you can do anything you set your mind to!

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #15 - Gayle's Sketch!

This is my very first Sugar Bowl challenge! Challenge #15 - Gayle's Sketch. The winner will receive the adorable new ‘ Manga’ kids stamps. They are SOOOO cute I couldn't resist! It was so much fun to play around with all the ribbon not to mention my new Sugar Nellie stamp I got from FunkyKits, I just love this image by Leanne Ellis. I enjoy the different challenges out there, the sketches make it so easy to whip together a card. Some days I can sit there forever trying to figure out what to put where, the challenges give me inspiration and make it easy to put a card together!!! Can't wait till the next one!

Gorjuss Girl!!!!

Yippie, I finally got my Sugar Nellie stamps!!! I got them from Funkykits and they litterally came in the mail in 4 days (all the way from Scotland!!!). I love this Gorjuss Girl stamp called 'bear hug'. I coloured her with my copics and paper pieced her dress. I added some crystal lacquer to her hot pink boots (although the picture doesn't show it very well). I clear embossed the 'giggle' sentiment & I also tried to flock her teddy bear. It was my first time 'flocking' and need some practice, anyone have any tips??? I was so excited to get this on a card that it turned out rather plain. Will keep trying...lol!
