A big ol' Birthday Blog Hop at The Pink Elephant!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA! Today The Pink Elephant challenge blog is celebrating its 1 year birthday by having a big ol' blog hop! And when I say big I mean big! So I'll try keep this short and sweet! If you just came from Michelle you're in the right place! If you just stumbled upon the hop and want to start from the very beginning click here!

I jumped at the chance to participate in this Birthday Blog Hop, especially because The Pink Elephant is one of my favourite challenge blogs! We were supposed to pick one of our favourite challenges from the last year and re-create a card! I chose Challenge #46 - a Sketch! I love a good sketch, especially clean and simple ones like this one.

Here are the details of my card...I appropriately chose this adorable Elephant stamp from Whipper Snapper called Huckabee. I coloured her in with my copics and shaded using some prismacolor pencils. The pink cardstock is all Bazzill, and the cupcake patterned dp is from Doodlebug Designs. The bottom scallop is from my Fiskars border punch and the sentiment is a Kraftin Kimmie Stamp!

This cute lil Elephant even got all dolled up for the party with some pink nail polish (used my glaze pen to make it glossy), added some glitter and a cute little bow on her head! I couldn't resist adding the Fancy Pants crocheted flower with a SU button and flat back pearl in the centre to finish it off! I hope Ella likes it hehe! Well so much for short and sweet, your next stop is Mummylade, thanks for stopping by! If you get lost along the way just go back to the start and the whole list is there! Have fun!

Take The Pink Elephant Challenge!

Here's another Whipper Snapper stamp I received at Christmas. I couldn't wait to use it! This little pups name is Wriggley.
I stamped her on to a Twinchie I got from Stamping Bella. I loooove the twinchie, my copics colour like a dream and you can use any medium on them.

I coloured her in using my copic markers and added some glitter to her heart tag and used my clear glaze pen on her eyes and nose (you can see the detail up close to the left).

I shaded around the image with a copic marker and blended it out using my colourless blender. I love the challenge this week over at The Pink Elephant , Challenge #51 a Recipe Challenge to use Polkadots, a bow and Pink! All right up my alley!!!!!

I used my swiss dots embossing folder for the polkadots on the base of the card and the adorable dp is from Doodlebug design. I used my bow-easy for the little organza bow running across the top of the card. I think this is one of my favorite cards lately, it will be so hard to give away...I sometimes get separation anxiety parting with my fav's!!! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!!!!

An all star kid!

I received some Whipper Snapper stamps for Christmas, I was so excited 'cause I didn't own any before, so getting some off my wish list was a treat! I love this image, I'm usually drawn to the girly images and papers and find it more of a challenge to make masculine cards. Speaking of challenges, I've used the sketch over at Crazy 4 Challenges this week. Its a great little layout by Lori Boyd.

I coloured 'Baseball Brandon' using my copic markers, I shaded around the image using my prismacolour pencils. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket and I used Stampin Up for the solid colours. The sentiment is from Inky Antics. Now, on to the baseball....you know when you get an idea in your head and it seems like it would be just a sinch to pull off? It actually turned out pretty good in the end but it took me a while to figure out how the baseball stitches should look. I googled 'baseball images' and tried to copy how the ball looked. I cut a circle with my Creative Memories circle cutters and inked around the edges. I added two curved lines then poked holes with my piercing tool. Then I just stitched with red thread and roughed it up a little bit.

I'll be giving this card to my son, he really is my all star kid!!!

Hope you're having a great day, thanks for stopping by!
