Coming to life...

Another girl from my sketch book.  I just had to make her come to life!  Lots of colour and had to give her some dramatic eyes!!!  I raided my supply stash and used some copic markers, prismacolor pencils, gel ink pens, markers, tombows, jacquard dye-na-flo inks and some watercolour.  Tons of layers of colour and different medium!  

Seriously SO MUCH FUN TO DO!

Paper, pencils and gelatos, oh my!!!

Happy Thursday all!  Just a quick little post showing you what you can do with a piece of paper, a quick sketch with a pencil, some pencil crayons and of course some Gelatos®!

I roughly sketched out my girl.  I don't really care that she's not perfect, or that its 'scribbly', I like that look and am trying to find my way in drawing faces...

I took my Prismacolor Pencil crayons and went to work bringing her face to life...I use a blending stump and some gamsol (odorless mineral spirits) to blend the pencil crayons...

I thought I would try a different medium for the hair and took a black Double Scoop Gelato® and went to work laying down the colour and blending wtih my fingers...

I wanted to add a background so I used the Double Scoop Gelatos® in Raspberry and Silver Ice.

Blended it in with my finger to create a smooth finish.

Its fun to just play around and test out different mediums.  I'll keep working on my faces, they're coming along slowly but surely...

For my card today I used the sweet Jack and Jill stamp.  I coloured them up with copic markers and added the sky with my cloud stencil and the grass was done with Prismacolour pencils and gamsol.  The big flower is from Stampin up!  I love that sentient!

Today I've made a Valentine's Tag using one of the cutie robots from this new set!  Can you tell that I don't clean my desk after I make every card?  And when I make a new one I grab the first thing handy to embellish with i.e. all the DOILIES???  I don't think Ive ever used so many doilies before!  I kinda like the look of  them, they really add alot of pretty detail without all the work, I'm gonna just leave that pile right on my desk...

For my preview card today I've used the adorable image from the new Best Fur-iends set featuring Lucas and Pup.  I coloured him up with my copic markers and I FINALLY found my prismacolor pencils from the move and was like, oh yeah, its ON!!!!!  LOL.....I love adding the pencils into the mix!  Don't think I could really live with out em!  Anyway hope you enjoy today's peeks!

Happy Fall y'all!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  Today at By LORi Designs we're celebrating FALL!!!  It's here and I really wish it would stay as LONG as possible!!!  Im not a fan of Winter and it can just take its sweet time arriving this year! 

 

Today I'm showcasing the super cute Puddle Jumper Pilgrim Jacob!  How stinkin' cute is he?

 

I love the look of copics on craft paper.  I kept it pretty simple to keep the cutie in the spotlight!  I added some white Prisma Color pencil to make the image 'pop' a little more.

Watermelon anyone?

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Soon enough summer will be here and who doesn't love a big piece of juicy watermelon on a nice hot day?!!  Today at By Lori Designs we have alot of inspiration for you!  I mean, have you seen our fabulous line up of designers lately?  We have an amazingly talented bunch of ladies that create beautiful cards week after week!  Every Tuesday we like to bring you a good helping of inspiration.  Here's mine:

I did something a little different and cut the base of my card into a circle.  Then I used a spellbinders die and cut out a mini card base and adhered it to the circle panel creating a mini card.  I used my copics and prismacolor pencils to colour in the adorable Lollipop Watermelon girl.  Added a few red pearls to finish it off!

Puddle Jumper Suzy!

Hi Everyone! Today I'm sharing with you a card using Puddle Jumper Suzy from the brand new release over at By LORi Designs! There are a whole bunch of new cuties to choose from, if you haven't already seen them you have to swing by and see the goodness!!!!

I printed PJ Suzy off onto some Beckett Expression paper and coloured her with my copics and prismacolor pencils. Then I cut her out using a Spellbinders die and mounted her on the ribbon and button treatment!

I followed the current By LORi Designs Challenge - a colour theme, Pink Orange and Green! You should play along with us, there's a prize to be won and we'd love to see your creation!

Little big storm.....

I know I know Thanksgiving is long gone, but that doesn't mean I still can't share some cute adorable images from By LORi Designs!!! This cutie, "Little Big Storm", can be found here! Love the name! Since I've been without an office/slash craft room I've been doing alot of colouring. I've been experimenting with a new 'no line' technique (which I love) where you lighten the lines of your image so there are no 'harsh' black lines. It gives the image a real nice soft look, almost painted. I first saw this technique over at Make it Crafty, then my friend Melanie coloured an image using this techique and I was completely blown away that I had to try it! I have a bunch of images coloured up on white paper using this 'no-line' way of colouring. I'm just waiting to get all my craft stuff unpacked so I can make some cards with them. New carpet this Friday - YAY! I will be posting them before the new year. Anyway I tried it on some kraft paper with my copics and prismacolour pencils and this was the result:
It was a little trickier using kraft cardstock for some reason, but it still turned out cute. How can it not with those sweet images!?! My first picture really doesn't do it much justice, it almost gets lost in the cardstock. I'm gonna say it looks aged and 'vintagey' lol...it really looks better in real life! :)

A big ol' Birthday Blog Hop at The Pink Elephant!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA! Today The Pink Elephant challenge blog is celebrating its 1 year birthday by having a big ol' blog hop! And when I say big I mean big! So I'll try keep this short and sweet! I jumped at the chance to participate in this Birthday Blog Hop, especially because The Pink Elephant is one of my favourite challenge blogs! We were supposed to pick one of our favourite challenges from the last year and re-create a card! I chose Challenge #46 - a Sketch! I love a good sketch, especially clean and simple ones like this one.

Here are the details of my card...I appropriately chose this adorable Elephant stamp from Whipper Snapper called Huckabee. I coloured her in with my copics and shaded using some prismacolor pencils. The pink cardstock is all Bazzill, and the cupcake patterned dp is from Doodlebug Designs. The bottom scallop is from my Fiskars border punch and the sentiment is a Kraftin Kimmie Stamp!

This cute lil Elephant even got all dolled up for the party with some pink nail polish (used my glaze pen to make it glossy), added some glitter and a cute little bow on her head! I couldn't resist adding the Fancy Pants crocheted flower with a SU button and flat back pearl in the centre to finish it off! I hope Ella likes it hehe!
