Today is also the start of another weekly challenge.  This week's hostess is Krafty Girl Jenny!  And ANYTHING GOES!!!  Yep, all you have to do is create any kind of project using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp and you could win some free stamps! 

 

For my card today I used the sweet Jack and Jill stamp.  I coloured them up with copic markers and added the sky with my cloud stencil and the grass was done with Prismacolour pencils and gamsol.  The big flower is from Stampin up!  I love that sentient!

Welcome back to another day of peeks at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps!  Today we are featuring a brand new set by Annie Rodrigue called Sassy Sprites!  I love these new stamps, so girly AND f-u-n to colour!!!

I went WAAAAAAY out of my comfort zone for this card today!  This isn't my usual style but I like to push myself to try something new sometimes....keeps the brain ticking.....I used the new Sassy Sprite 'Tatiana' and coloured her with my copics.  I added lots of Stardust stickles to her wings and dress and cut her out....talk about fussy cutting!!!!  I used dp by Prima (Sweet Fairy) and then added a bunch of frilly embellishments.  The lace trim, clear vintage button, twine, ribbon and heart background tag are all from Stampin Up, and the rest from my stash!  Oh and don't you love the sentiment that comes with it?  I stamped it with stazon onto a canvas tag.

For my hop card today I've used the brand new MIRIAM from Switzerland image.  Isn't she so sweet?  She is part of the brand new set 'Travel Girls' from Annie Rodrigue.  I had to 'Google' around a bit to find some pictures of what a traditional Swiss costume looks like.  There were many beautiful styles but I chose to go with the blue/red/yellow combo.  I really enjoyed colouring her up!   I hope you enjoy the hop and this new release!  Thanks for stopping by!

A totally WICKED sneak peek with a challenge on the side...

I'm having major Blogger problems today....for some reason my whole post disappeared, so here's my 2nd attempt....

Welcome to another fabulous Sneek Peek for Kraftin Kimmie Stamps!  Today we're giving peeks of an amazing new Wizard of Oz inspired stamps by Annie Rodrigue!  I'm totally in LOVE with is release in particular!  Anyone who knows me well knows that The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favourite movies!  As a child, whenever we had a get together with family, which was often, this movie was ALWAYS in the vcr...And being the oldest of 13 cousins I was usually the last one 'standing'...I soaked it up every time!  I even made (well begged) my husband to take me to the movie theatre when they re-released it about 10 years ago....what a trooper...while he caught up on some sleep I loved every minute of it!  I've also read the book Wicked and recently saw the play which was awesome!  Anyway I could go on and on so I'll spare you some time today lol!

For my sneek peek today, I chose to use the Wicked Witch of the West, terribly misunderstood (depending on if you've read the book..hehe wink)...but one of my favourite characters!  I coloured her with copics and paper pieced her dress and hat and decided it was time to part with some of that wonderful Wizard of Oz dp from Graphic 45.  She comes with the cute sentiment too!

There's also a Sketch Challenge going on today, here it is if you would like to play along.  You could win some Krafty rubber!  What a great sketch!!!

A new challenge....aren't you curious?

Yay for the weekend, its finally here! To kick start my Saturday, I've joined in on the fun over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! There's a challenge goin' on and an appropriate one at that! MAKE A TAG!

I'm always making tags this time of year. The perfect tag always finishes off any gift! So make sure you play along for your chance to win some KKS rubber!

So, have I told you how much I'm in love with the new Kraftin' Kimmie Alice in Wonderland Stamps by Annie Rodrigue? Well, I do, and have had alot of fun creating funky cards and tags with them. I tried to get a bit creative this time and made a tag featuring 'Alice in Wonderland', and attached it to a cake pop that says 'EAT ME'.... Close up of the cake pop...

Wanna hear a funny story behind this little project? With all the cake-pop makin' goin on in my house lately, I knew when I saw the Alice in Wonderland stamp I was going to make a special one and decorate it with the infamous 'eat me' on it. So, after alot fussing an fiddling with icing and getting it just right, I placed it in the cake stand to let it 'set'. About an hour later, my 9 year old son came down stairs licking his lips, looking to me like he was eating what was left of a 'cake pop'. Knowing I only made the one, I very calmly asked him, 'whatcha eatin?'....to which he replied, 'that cake pop from upstairs'.....(now, picture me jumping off the couch in slow motion with that low, slowed-down voice yelling....NOOOOOOOOOOO!)...lol...When I asked him why he decided to eat it without asking he simply replied, 'it said Eat Me'! In retrospect I should have put a sign up saying 'don't eat me'...we all had a good laugh! So the one you see above is my second attempt which turned out better than the first one anyway!

Annie's Voodoo Lady:

Here's a close up of the skull with a good coat of Crackle Accents and Stardusts Stickles! I took my inspiration from Annie's original painting and went to work with my copics. When I met her on Krafty Day I told her I would love to try and colour it they way she painted it and she said 'absolutely go for it'!!! Its no match to her gorgeous watercolour original but I was pleased with the way it turned out. I think I may have gone a bit too overboard with the stickles and beads, but its hard working with only paper and markers. I scrounged through my totes and found some Black Diamond and Stardust stickles and some microcut black beads and thought that should do it. I stepped waaaaaay out of my comfort zone for this one. Its hard to do but also a good challenge! I love Voodoo lady, she's so creepy and mysterious, perfect to use for a halloween party invite? She looks like she could be a character from the movie Beetlejuice. Love that flick!

So for my card/s today I'm showcasing Kool Kitty from artist Emilie Goulet. There are two cards because I did the first one up and wasn't happy with it even after I took the picture, so after stewing about it for a bit, I carefully lifted Kool Kitty off the first card and created a whole new one that I was much happier with.

1st attempt: (I found the image was too big for the smaller card size, it still would make for a cute little note card):
2nd attempt: Still not 100% happy but I liked it much better!

The inside sentiment reads, "You call this a winter wonderland?" I coloured this cool cat up with my copics and cut him out leaving a little bit of an outline. I used some new paper from BoBunny's Blitzen collection and used my giant scallop punch on all the papers. My Bow Easy helped me make the pretty double bow, then using dimensionals I popped him right along the bottom of the ribbon.

I love her 'retro' looking headphones and how she's dancing away to some tunes on her Ipod. Her outfit screamed 80's to me so I chose some appropriate colours to suit the decade, coloured her with my copics and picked some dp to match. I cased a layout from the wonderfully talented Michele Boyer! I was stuck and happened to be browsing her awesome blog when I got inspiration from this card! Seriously if you haven't checked out her blog, you MUST, but you might be a while, her work is so inspirational!!! ;)

I used 3 different patterns from Echo Park 's Springtime line and matted them all on black cardstock. The image was coloured with my copics (I coloured it to look like me and my best friend since the 9th gr!)....love this stamp!!! Then I added some pink and white bakers twine and a homemade button I purchased from Etsy ages ago!

Today I'm showing you Sunny the Turtle from our new artist Emilie:

Isn't he just the funniest little turtle ever? I think his name should be Rico because he looks pretty SUAVE to me! He has this sly look on his face like he's about so say 'How U doooin'? ...hahaha...I coloured him with my copics and cut him out so he could freely float in the waves with his little duckie friend. I used lots of pop dots on each layer to create some dimension (as you can see from my last picture) and framed it all in with some embossed cardstock! (I made the little sign myself using some craft paper and a KRAFTIN KIMMIE sentiment). I had someone in mind when creating this card and couldn't resist adding the cheeky little sign!

24 Krafty Karats challenge...and a sneek peek...

Woo hoo the weekend is here! Yay, that means we have a brand new challenge for you over at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Blog! Yep, our hostess with the mostess this week is the awesome Angie! Today also brings another fabulous sneek peek of the brand new Annie's at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! This month Annie has created some amazing Asian inspired images! Today I'm using MIZUKI (which means Beautiful Moon):

I coloured her up with my copics and added some GOLD stickles to the skulls and her hair sticks. While shopping at Michaels one day I spotted those cool paper lantern stickers (Martha Stewart) and knew I HAD to use them with these new Annie stamps! I wanted them to be hanging so I created a little awning from a punch and added a flap over the top and bent it up a bit so I could let them hang. It was a bit fussy to do but worked in the end. I have to say, she is FU-UN to colour up! SO TODAY 2 LUCKY PEOPLE WILL WIN 3 of the brand new Annie stamps!!! Today I'm showing you ROXY!!! Isn't she totally rad? Those shorts scream 80's to me! She reminds me of the good old days of rollerskating at Wheels wearing my rainbow legwarmers, big plastic earrings and anything, well, NEON! lol...For those of you who were lucky enough to experience any kind of roller-rink shenanigans way back when, I'm sure you're familiar with the backwards figure 8, moonlight waltz, girls and boys only skates etc...One of my favorite songs to skate to was, 'You dropped a bomb on me' by The Gap Band...They even had this little 'disco' area off to the side with this urethane floor that lit up all funky and stuff. 'Sigh' those days of hangin out at the stinky skate counter are gone but not forgotten. Ok, thanks for humoring me on my little trip down memory lane. I hope you like Roxy as much as I do!
