Let the fairy in you fly....another KKS challenge...

Welcome back to another fun challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!!  Today I'm playing hostess and I challenge you to use flowers on your project.  I rarely use actual 'flower embellishments' on my cards or projects so this really was a challenge for me.  You can use any kind of flower, it can be on your designer paper, embellishments, incorporated in the stamp/sentiment etc...we just want to see those flowers!  Maybe it will nudge spring along because it sure is taking it's sweet little time around here!!!  Play along with us using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp and you could win some Krafty Rubber!!!

I created another mixed media tag for my project today...yep, I'm on the 'tag train' and not sure when I'm getting off!  lol...anyway, for my project I've used the newly released Tatiana and an older sentiment 'let the fairy in you fly'.  On the original stamp for Tatiana, she is holding a mirror but I wanted her to be holding some flowers so I just simply cut the mirror part off during the 'fussy cutting' stage.
Here is a close up of how I cut out the 'mirror' and added my own glittery flowers.  Her wings were paper pieced using some old book paper.  I added a bit of colour with my peerless watercolors.
And another close-up of the sentiment and the cabochon flower.

I also used lots and lots of  Glimmer Mist and Stardust Stickles which is hard to see in the first picture of the whole tag.  I added glitter to the edges of the 'torn' parts, the flowers, and some random dots scattered around.

Here is a list of some of the supplies I've used on my tag.  Tags (x2 Canvas Corp), old book paper, flower stencils, text stencils (The Crafters Workshop), peerless watercolors, glimmer mist, copic markers, stickles, gesso, faber castell pitt pens, flower embellishments, archival ink, mod podge.
Also there's a big Springtime Krafty Krop goin' on today at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps for even more fun and chances to win some prizes.  You can check out all the information HERE!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Today is also the start of another great Challenge and this week's theme is ANYTHING GOES!  Krafty Girl Alice is our hostess this week, so make sure you check out her amazing project, you could win the stamp she used on her card if you play along!

Also, don't forget the big online release party going on over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Facebook page tonight!  You can check out all the details HERE.  Be sure to join in on the fun, chats, trivia & prizes to be won!

I went WAAAAAAY out of my comfort zone for this card today!  This isn't my usual style but I like to push myself to try something new sometimes....keeps the brain ticking.....I used the new Sassy Sprite 'Tatiana' and coloured her with my copics.  I added lots of Stardust stickles to her wings and dress and cut her out....talk about fussy cutting!!!!  I used dp by Prima (Sweet Fairy) and then added a bunch of frilly embellishments.  The lace trim, clear vintage button, twine, ribbon and heart background tag are all from Stampin Up, and the rest from my stash!  Oh and don't you love the sentiment that comes with it?  I stamped it with stazon onto a canvas tag.

Here's a close up so you can see all of all the detail on this wonderful new stamp!

To my sweet friend...

Hello everyone!  I can't believe its already Tuesday again!  That means another wonderful day full of By LORi Designs Inspiration!!!!

For my card today I've coloured up the adorable Peyton Valentine digi from the adorable Bug N Roo stamp line at BLD!  I think she is one of my favourites!  I just love her cute quirkiness!  I used my copics and added some stardust stickles to the big heart and some Crystal Effects to her glasses.  The sentiment is just printed off from my computer and I added some Stampin Up ribbon (pool party) and a button and it was done in a snap!

Don't forget to check out the BLD Design Team to see what inspiration they have to show you.  And also swing by the By LORi Designs shop and grab yourself some adorable Valentine digis, it will be here before you know it!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Sparkly easter eggs make me happy...

Its another fabulous Inspiration Tuesday at By Lori Designs!  Just a quick little post today, we are on our March Break and taking some time to get away with the kids!
Easter Bunny Basket was printed off on my printer using Beckett Expression paper and coloured in with my copic markers (the grass is coloured using prismacolor pencil crayons and gamsol).  I used a nestie to cut out each layer of the card and used the 'out of the box' technique for the image panel.  I also had a few left over butterflies from an earlier project that happily found their way to this cute springy card!

I applied a nice good coat of Stardust Stickles to the easter eggs to make them nice and sparkly!
I love sparkly!
Be sure to hop over to the By Lori Designs Blog to see what the rest of the BLD crew have to show you today!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great week!

OH JOY!!!!

I imagine this is what is going through this little doggies mind as he holds his treasured bone all wrapped up with a big red bow.....OH JOY!!!! Talk about pure bliss!!!! This is another Mo digi stamp 'Bismark', and couldn't resist when I saw it. I have a mini schnauzer named Sammi and she looks exactly like the grey pup below. This is also the perfect card for a friend who also had a Schnauzer named Sammy & I think she'll love it!
I printed the image on Neenah cardstock on my laser printer and coloured it up with my copics. I added Stickles to the brim and pom pom of the hat and used a glaze pen on the bow, scarf and knitted part of the hat. I don't think my camera picked up the glaze, but it's there! The dp is from Crate paper's North Pole Collection (love it) and the solid cardstock and Joy sentiment is from Stampin Up. I kept this one simple, yet another great image from Mo!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

Let it snow...

This card is for the Copic Creations Challenge No 17 - Snow/Snowpeople. I've had this cute little frosty for many years and he has never made his way onto a card until now! The whole problem was I didn't know how to colour him up! Thanks to all the creative ideas I found on the Copic Creations blog, I was able to find a way to make him come to life! The copics I used were, C00, C1, C2, C4, C7, B0000, B000, YR12 & 16 for the nose and R20 & 21 for the heart. Oh, and of course my Colorless Blender!!!

Although I don't agree with the sentiment on this card 'let it snow' I do agree it turned out pretty cute! I am not a winter person in any way shape or form. In fact I pretty much go into hibernation along with the bears during this season. But the good thing is, I have a hobby that feeds hibernating bears like myself, where I can crawl into my crafty cave and not be seen for hours....even days....lol! I think I'll be getting alot of cards and projects done this season!!!
Here are the details of the card:
Stamp: Jolly Snowman, Stampendous, Sentiment - Sunshine Designs
Patterned Paper: Colorful Christmas, My Minds Eye,
Embellishments: Ribbon - Stampin Up, Diamond Stickles, Basic Grey Buttons, 3D Pop dots for dimension

Ho Ho Ho!

Just a quick post tonight, this is for the SSDS Challenge this week, which is most fittingly "Christmas"!! Thats right, a nice easy challenge, make anything that has a Christmas theme. This stamp is from The Greeting Farm set called XMAS Sweeties! I coloured her in with my Copics and blinged her up with lots and lots of Diamond Stickles!!!! Her shoes, belt buckle, scarf, and the white fluff on her skirt, cuffs and hood are all decked out with glitter!!! The dp I've had forever in my stash and the card base and pink mat is from Stampin Up. I cut the image out using my Nesties and the big striped brad is from My Mind's Eye - Abbey Road line (which I looove!). This turned out pretty simple but I also think its a fun card and I know just the 'fun' person to send it to !!!
We're settling in from the move more and more each day, it does get easier day by day!!! (totally did not mean for that to rhyme!) (ooh that might be a good sentiment for a stamp LOL)!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Stamping Bella Thank you card!

Its finally the perfect summer weather here in Ontario! I think it has inspired me to create sparkly cards with bright summery colours!!! Anyway, this is a thank you card made with the adorable Lulu Ketto image by Stamping Bella. I have had her coloured for the longest time and finally found the perfect paper to use with her!!! I used my nestabilities to frame the image, and inked the edges with chalk to soften the look. I used one of my favourite sentiments that goes perfectly with any Ketto or 'fairy' image, also by Stamping Bella. I used DCWD glitter mat stack paper and added some Doodlebug sugar coated brads to add more bling!! Thanks for looking, have a great week!

HUMBLE PIE!!!!!

I am very priviledged to be a guest designer for The Town Scrapper in Petrolia for the month of August. This is very exciting for me as I love to create all the time and love sharing my passion with others who have the same love for stamping! So, thanks Phebe! This adorable image is a Humble Pie stamp from The Town Scrapper, way to go Phebe! Check out more card samples from her amazing Design Team on the Humble Pie Blog. I coloured this image using my copic markers. I chalked the edges to soften the look. The patterned paper is We R Memory Keepers called (Tiffany's). I of course added some stickles, because I'm obsessed right now with glitter! I used crystal for the wings, lime green for the leaf and stem, fruit punch for the flower and also added some Smootch's lime green sparkle to accent to the leaf. I used some big eyelet snaps, and added some ribbon I had and popped it all on a card! This was so fun to create as there are so many possibilities!!! So, stop by The Town Scrapper to pick up all these items and get creating!!! There is a sale on right now until August 5th!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Happy Birthday Pixie!

I finally got around to making a card from this adorable image by CC Designs (Heidi - Swiss Pixies). I stamped her a few times (cause you just never know) - good thing I did! My first try I didn't like the colours I used, but I liked the way I did her hair. So I coloured the other image (using my copics) with different colours and paperpieced her wings, dress and boots to the original one! I didn't glue her wings all the way down and ended up curling them a bit to make it look like her wings were 3D. I used the adorable 'Berry Blue' patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs. Added some buttons embellished with Scrappers Floss and added the happy birthday sentiment (also CC Designs). Oh, I also added some stickles 'cause no Pixie would be complete with out some sparkle!!! Thanks for looking!
Till next time,
