Friends on a shelf.....

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Just a quick little post today showcasing an adorable image from By Lori Designs.  I love this image which comes with or without a sentiment:

This would make a great birthday or 'cheer up' card for a friend.  Its my usual clean and simple but I put it all together on one of my 'girls nights' and was low on supplies, so a little shout out to Corrie for the punch and Miss Dee for the pink and white twine!  ;)  Thanks girls!  The image was coloured up with copics and I used my ScorPal to add the score lines to the card base and the turquoise card stock panel.

Sweet Inspiration...

 Welcome to another fantastic Inspiration Tuesday with By LORi Designs!  My card for you today features the sweet sweet Puddle Jumper Penny!  Love her!

 As much I love the CAS style I love changing things up a bit too.  I used the current sketch over at The Deconstructed Sketch Blog.    I love sketch challenges as it takes all the guess work out for me.  Other than colouring (on detailed images) thats the part I spend most of my time fussing over.....the layout.  If its already done for me then I can put my own little spin on it and *bam* its done!  (did I mention my middle name is Emeril?...lol).  Although that probably makes me a lazy crafter, I'd rather be colourin' up my next image instead of spending hours fussing until I like it...'sigh'...Plus I have a TON of embellishments that have been gettin' no love lately and I've promised myself that I have to start using the buckets of twine, buttons, pearls, charms, doilies, brads, etc...i.e. I've had those metal heart brads (bottom left of my card) for about 9 years now...seriously...pathetic, I know...I think A&E needs a  new show called Crafty Hoarders...I could totally be on it!

Well if you know me you know that I looooove Lori's stuff. Not only is she one of my bestest friends, she's super sweet and so totally talented in every right!

Here's my card:

How cute is this little sweet pea? Her name is Baby Addy and she is being released on January 12th at By Lori Designs, along with some other SUPER cuties. I coloured her in with my copics and used a little bit of soft orange to mat her, then I popped her onto some dp by Imaginisce. I made the card base with the second largest Lacey Squares Nestability and some pink cardstock! It makes for a smaller card but its the perfect accessory for any baby gift!

The winner from this challenge will receive a GC from the By Lori Designs Shop, so you'll definately want to play along with us!!!!

A Winter Wonderland with TPE!

WINTER WONDERLAND!!!

Thats what it looks like out my front window right now! How fitting for our one and only challenge this month at The Pink Elephant.

This was one of the cards I did for my card class at Scrappin Great Deals on Saturday! (a quick shout out to the wonderful ladies who attended, I had a great time with you all!). I've been waiting to post it on my blog for this very challenge. Winter Wonderland! The stamp used is called 'Birdie-ful Duet' House Mouse by Stampabilities. It was coloured in with copic markers. I used some gorgeous Christmas paper by Echo Park (Merry Christmas line), added some velvet ribbon and big pearl brad and kept it clean and simple.

Giving Thanks with TPE!

Today at The Pink Elephant we're doing something a little bit different! We have all created a special 'Giving Thanks' card or layout in Celebration of Thanksgiving! Now being a Canadian gal, I celebrated Thanksgiving way back in October with my family and had a great time. I hope the same for my U.S. friends! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

One thing I'm thankful for is being on this wonderful team of sweet and very talented girls! You all inspire me and want to thank you all and LORI for having me on this wonderful team!!! Also to all of the amazing followers of TPE, it really couldn't be possible with out you!!! So, Thank You!!! Hmm I guess thats 2 things!!!

For my card I used a little wee stamp from DeNami, that I had never inked up. I went on a bus trip a while back to a Stamp show and found the DeNami Designs booth for the very first time. Oh my, they have the cutest little stamps, I think I grabbed some little chickie stamps for every occasion! These little pilgrim chicks are so cute I had to use them for this card! The 'So Thankful' sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmie called Thankful Sentiments!

Something yummy...

This is Ladybug Lollipop, with a big handfull of cotton candy! I think that totally qualifies as Yummy! I printed her off and coloured with my copics. I coloured up the cotton candy and added some pink flock mixed with some fine glitter to make it look more real. Almost good enough to eat...haha!

I got to work with Miyako (with Fan)!

I paper pieced the entire image only from origami paper. I coloured her face and hands with copics and popped them on at the end! I couldn't resist making her fan 3d so I cut and very delicately folded the paper to create a 'real life' looking fan. It ended up being smaller than the original one but I don't think you can really notice with all the print on her dress!

I used the adorable Hannah Lollipop, which is now available as a digi from DieCutsRUs! I coloured her up with my red copics and added some CandyCane Stickles to her shoes and the big red bow in her hair!!! I'm counting that as my bow by the way...hehe! I popped her on to a scalloped nestie mat and used some dp by Paper Crate.

I got to play with Sunny Rays!

I printed off this cute image on some orange polkadot Basic Grey dp, but made it a bit larger to be the focal point of the card. I did some 'messy' stitching with my sewing machine to add some texture (who am I kidding? I can't stitch a straight line for the life of me, so I call it 'intentional messy stitching'..lol). I added some ribbon down the side with a sentiment already on it! Fun in the sun! Then finished it off with some bright blue buttons and floss!
